BPI Color Expands ADA Signage and Installation Services with In-House Engraving Equipment

Reprographic Shop Improves Efficiency, Quality, and
Turnaround Time for Clients

TROY, Michigan — January 28, 2025 — National / AZON, a leader in providing innovative solutions for the printing industry, announces that BPI Color, a prominent Wisconsin-based custom signage provider, has enhanced its capabilities by investing in a turnkey engraving solution facilitated by National / AZON. The bundle includes engraving equipment from Vision Engraving & Routing Systems, high-quality substrates from Rowmark, and comprehensive training. With this investment, BPI Color is now able to produce ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) signage in-house, improving both efficiency and quality for customers across Wisconsin.

With four locations in the state, BPI Color has built a solid reputation as a leader in custom signage solutions, specializing in ADA signage and installation. The company’s decision to bring ADA signage production in-house stemmed from the challenges they faced when outsourcing. Long lead times and a lack of control over quality and consistency made it difficult for BPI Color to meet customer demands, especially for urgent ADA signage needs. By investing in AZON’s turnkey solution, BPI Color is now able to manufacture ADA-compliant signage in-house, dramatically improving both production speed and service reliability.

“We were facing significant delays with our previous vendors, sometimes waiting up to 8 to 12 weeks for ADA signage,” said Matt Bennett, Vice President of Operations at BPI Color. “The engraving equipment from Vision Engraving & Routing Systems has allowed us to drastically reduce lead times, while ensuring that we meet the high standards required for ADA compliance.”

In just six months, BPI Color’s new equipment has already paid for itself, thanks to a combination of new customers and increased orders from existing clients. The company is seeing significant demand, particularly from contractors who need ADA signage to meet building code requirements quickly and without errors.

Faster Service and New Business Opportunities

BPI Color’s in-house engraving capabilities have proven invaluable in addressing emergency scenarios where contractors require ADA signage for occupancy approvals. For example, BPI Color was able to produce ADA signage within a week for a general contractor needing to meet occupancy deadlines for a commercial building. This is a major improvement over the typical 8 to 12-week turnaround time from traditional vendors.

“We were able to quickly fulfill an urgent order of 12 ADA signs for a contractor needing occupancy approval,” said Bennett. “This type of rapid turnaround is exactly why we invested in the engraving equipment. It sets us apart from other vendors and allows us to better serve our clients, especially those with tight timelines.”

Strengthening Partnerships for Future Growth

Along with the engraving equipment, BPI Color has also gained access to Rowmark’s premium substrates, and with comprehensive training, has enabled them to integrate the equipment into their workflow seamlessly.

“We’re excited about the possibilities this new equipment opens up for us,” said Bennett. “The support we’ve received from AZON has been critical in helping us fine-tune our process and ensure that we continue delivering the high-quality, compliant ADA signage our clients expect.”

“We are thrilled to see BPI Color leveraging our turnkey engraving solution to take their business to the next level,” said Rich Gigl, president of National / AZON. “We are committed to empowering our partners with the tools and training they need to succeed. BPI Color’s success story is a perfect example of how the right technology, along with strong partnerships and training, can drive business growth, improve customer satisfaction, and streamline operations. We’re proud to be a part of BPI Color’s journey and look forward to seeing even greater success in the future.”

Looking to the Future

Looking ahead, BPI Color plans to expand its production capacity and explore larger-scale ADA signage projects. The company is also working toward establishing itself as a go-to resource for architects and contractors, particularly in emergency scenarios where ADA signage is needed quickly to meet occupancy requirements.

“We’re just scratching the surface with this new technology,” said Bennett. “In the future, we hope to continue growing and become a trusted partner for contractors, architects, and building owners in need of high-quality, timely ADA signage solutions.”
