Case Study
OVERVIEWBPI Color is a leading provider of custom signage solutions specializing in ADA signage and installation. |
Matt Bennett, Vice President of Operations at BPI Color |
![]() CHALLENGEBPI Color relied on third-party vendors to fulfill its ADA-compliant engraving orders, but the long turnaround times—ranging from 8 to 12 weeks— were increasingly problematic. Additionally, the outsourcing process limited BPI Color’s control over production quality, which sometimes led to errors that required rework or resulted in customer dissatisfaction. SOLUTIONTo address these challenges and maintain its competitive edge, BPI Color invested in a turnkey engraving solution facilitated by National / AZON. The bundle included engraving equipment from Vision Engraving & Routing Systems, high-quality substrates from Rowmark, and extensive training and support. The decision to bring ADA signage production in-house would enable BPI Color to reduce lead times, increase control over product quality, and better serve its customers’ needs for fast, reliable service. The investment also opened up opportunities for new business, as BPI Color could now handle more complex and time-sensitive ADA signage projects. SEE MORE: www.azon.com/vision |
RESULTSIn just six months, BPI Color’s investment in the engraving solution paid for itself. The in-house equipment allowed BPI Color to produce ADA signage on demand, drastically reducing lead times and providing the company with greater control over the quality of the output. The ability to fulfill urgent orders with shorter turnaround times also enabled BPI Color to build stronger relationships with contractors and developers who needed ADA signage for occupancy approvals. “We were able to quickly fulfill an urgent order of 12 ADA signs for a contractor needing occupancy approval,” said Bennett. “This type of rapid turnaround is exactly why we invested in the engraving equipment. It sets us apart from other vendors and allows us to better serve our clients, especially those with tight timelines.” With the success of its in-house ADA signage solution, BPI Color plans to further expand its production capacity. The company is exploring additional engraving equipment to meet growing demand, particularly as it begins to take on larger projects that require more sophisticated ADA signage solutions. By investing in National / AZON’s engraving equipment bundle, BPI Color has transformed its ADA signage business. The company’s ability to produce signage in-house with a faster turnaround time has significantly improved operational efficiency and enhanced customer satisfaction. With the ongoing support from National / AZON and its partners, BPI Color is poised for continued growth and success in the competitive ADA signage market. |
