The Curator with the Museum of the City of New York recently contacted National / AZON seeking permission to exhibit a reproduction of page 226 from the 1949 Keuffel & Esser Company sales catalog. Known as K & E, Keuffel & Esser Company was a giant in our business selling drafting, reproduction, and surveying equipment in North America from 1867 until their demise sometime in the 1980’s.
The museum contacted AZON because, during a series of mergers and acquisitions in 1987, National / AZON acquired the K & E brand and therefore the distribution copyright for the name Kueffel & Esser Company.
The result of our agreement you see below; The K & E Motoraser Electric Erasing Machine illustration included in an upcoming MCNY exhibition titled “Analog City, New York BC (Before Computers)” scheduled to run from May 20, 2022, until January 15, 2023. Analog City: New York BC (Before Computers);
The Motoraser is a perfect example of the beautifully illustrated images within the 475-page hardbound K & E sales catalog – published with not a single reference to pricing. How things have changed. Enjoy.
